Steve and Sarah brought in 8 lb 4 oz baby Graham into my studio for his newborn session. He was 14 days new and was the most easy going baby you ever did meet. Graham was so generous with the sleepy smiles and didn’t make me work too terribly hard – always a plus.
Sarah and Steve both grew up in Indiana and met through a mutual friend. Actually- it was Sarah’s friend that had gone out on a date with Steve. After the date she told Sarah she thought she had found the guy for her, and as soon as they met, they knew they were meant to be. They share a love of fast cars and having lots of fun. Steve is a really creative guy, his passions include photography (same!), woodworking, 3D printing… the list goes on and on as Sarah will tell you.
The new parents did Graham’s nursery in a woodland them, so they asked that I keep that theme for the newborn session. Woodworking is one of Steve’s passions, so I was happy to oblige. Graham looked fantastic in my wooden baby bed and bark bucket.
Graham also has a furry sibling, a Golden Retriever named Piper. Sarah grew up with Golden Retrievers and Steve was always called the Golden child by his two older sisters, so it was a match made in heaven.
Right after the family poses were done, my assistant brought in two stuffed animals from Steve and Sarah’s childhoods they wanted to include as props. They were the sweetest old stuffed animals you’ve ever seen. Their names are Puppy (bet you can’t guess which one that is), and Blue Boo Bear. My assistant set them on the bed where I was wrapping up Graham and I just had to pause and take the picture right there because it was the perfect arrangement.
I was so excited to send out this gallery, it’s one of my favorites to date. Congratulations Steve and Sarah on your newborn baby boy!
