Baby girl Laurel is baby number three for Amy and Jason. This sweet baby girl was absolute perfection. Big brother and big sister have some years on her, so they were not only super cute, but also helpful! All five were champs in front of the camera.
Their Story
This is a family that loves to travel, and they found out they were expecting their little surprise on Spring Break in Florida with Jason’s family. Amy said everything went well throughout her pregnancy and they were going to induce her on November 30th. She was hoping to go into labor naturally, and Laurel obliged on November 27th at 1 am. Amy enjoyed laboring alone for a few hours, she sat downstairs in the peace and quiet looking at her Christmas tree. When Jason came down a bit later, Amy announced “today is the day!”
Laurel is named after one of Amy’s best friends. The original Laurel is actually named after her Mom’s college best friend, so it was really fitting. Laurel was a doll during her newborn session, and barely made a peep. She cooperated for every pose and looked beautiful in every set-up.
The Session
I was fortunate enough to photograph Amy’s maternity session this past fall, so I knew this family was lovely and had great style. I had no doubt they would carry that over to the newborn session. Of course, I was right.
Amy brought along some Christmas-inspired props, an adorable little felt milk and cookies set that fit perfectly in Laurel’s newborn hands. Amy also brought along a red felt heart for the session, to honor her father who had passed away. I love to incorporate anything with special meaning to my clients for their newborn photography sessions.
It was lovely to meet this wonderful family of five, take a peek at baby girl Laurel’s newborn session! I dare you not to say “awww!”
