It’s not very often I get to work with “older” kids, so I really have a lot of fun when I do. It doesn’t require as many antics, silly noises, or goofy faces, basically, not having to act like a lunatic is kind of nice, once in a while. Don’t get me wrong, I love being silly and photographing toddlers and pre-schoolers, but I also love being able to talk to the kids and joke with them on a slightly more mature level.  The Stantons were great to work with. I hadn’t seen them in a few of years, and WOW have the kids grown up! The difference between age 11 and 14 is just astounding. Michele and I decided on a more urban session since our last session was woodsy and nature-y, plus the kids are at an age where we don’t have to worry about them running into the street and getting hit by a bus (always a fear of mine with urban sessions.)  We had a beautiful evening to work with and only got a few stares from the many people out in downtown Carmel, a nice guy even invited us into his backyard for a few shots – not those kind of shots, but he did offer us a beer. Micah and Lilly, the two littlest Stantons, are just enamored with their big sis Riley, it was the sweetest thing to see, and you can tell she adores them equally. Robert and Michele are a smokin’ hot couple, you would never guess they’ve been married over a decade, he still looks at her with newlywed eyes. We had a fun time strolling through Carmel’s Arts and Design district, and I even tagged along for ice cream after the session. Here’s a little preview of our evening together.
