Sweet newborn baby boy Barrett was a last minute schedule, on a recommendation from another client– I love when that happens. This newborn could not wait to meet his wonderful mom and dad, Jen and Jim. Jen’s office was throwing her a baby shower at work, and her water broke in the middle of it!

When Barrett came in for his newborn session, he was just about three weeks old, but still a tiny little thing since he was early. Grandma came in for the session too, as Jim had to get back to work as soon as his portion was over. All three of them had such joy spilling out of them about this new baby boy.

Since Barrett was early, and in the hospital for a little longer than normal, Jen’s best friend knitted a few little hats and diaper covers for him. He was still swimming in them, even at three weeks old. I do hope we get to use those for a milestone session as they were so cute! We did get to use a quilt Jim’s mother made for Barrett and he looked so cozy in it.

Mama wanted her baby boy in neutrals, and I’ve been loving grey lately. Barrett looked so cute in my white and grey plaid Rip Van Winkle cap. Barrett woke up for part of the session and I got some great eye contact with the camera.

Barrett’s two middle names, Huddleston and Wilson, are to honor Jim’s mother’s maiden name, and Jen’s maiden name. You can tell nothing is more important than family to these two new parents.

I can’t wait until the next time I get to see this lovely family of three.
