So many newborn baby girls have brought their Grandmas in for help lately, paternity leave still isn’t the norm here in the U.S. and dads often have to pop over on their lunch break, so it’s Grandma to the rescue for these new moms. It’s a quick introduction into how life is going to be from now on, always on the run. Miss Dylan Rose was as angelic as her name sounds. She wanted spend much of her newborn session awake, but she sure didn’t fuss while she was. Her Mom Ashley owns a Pilates studio, and I bet Dylan gets her chill from her mama.
We did Dylan’s solo newborn photographs first so we could wait on dad for family pictures. Dylan was totally passed out during prop shots, she looked like a little flower in one of my favorite metal prop buckets. Yellow is definitely her color. We then moved on to do more poses, and baby girl woke right up when I laid her on my pink flokati. Dylan looked right at the camera so many times, I got the best awake shots of her. Before long she succumbed to my warm studio and the white noise and closed her eyes. I even captured a sleepy smile or two!
Grandma and Mom were so fun to talk to during the session, Grandma lives in Florida (for now, I bet this sweet baby girl is a reason to be in Indy more often!) so we were talking about the aftermath of Hurricane Irma and how amazingly resilient the people of Florida are. Grandma did get here in time for Dylan’s birth. Ashley’s water broke the day before her due date, during a full moon, but she then labored until the next day and Dylan came on her due date.
Her middle name, Rose, was chosen by Jeff, because they found out they were expecting while watching the Rose Bowl! Here’s a look at newborn baby girl’s session, I hope to see this family again soon!
