A mere 17 months ago I did this lovely couple’s first newborn session, and now here we are with newborn baby girl number 2, Miss Elsie Rose. These two girls gave me serious hair envy! They both had perfect thick, yet feathery locks.
We started out with sibling poses, because 17 month olds cannot be counted on to pay attention to new babies for long. Big sis Scarlett was not impressed with being able to hold little sis, but we bribed her with some food, and I got some adorable shots. She was much happier when Mom and Dad were in the pictures too.
We had done a few poses for Scarlett’s newborn session with Dad’s army uniform, and we knew we were going to do some for Elsie’s too. I dug up Scarlett’s newborn pose with the uniform, and we did them in similar fashion, though my editing style certainly has changed in the past year and a half.
All 6 lbs 9 oz and 19 inches of newborn baby girl Elsie was sweet as pie. She was so sleepy I decided to use clothes on her, and she looked adorable! We stuck with neutral colors for the most part, but then at the very end I did some pink as well for Mama. Elsie’s skin tone and hair could not have been cuter in my pink floral wrap.
It was lovely to see this family again, and I hope to keep photographing these two beautiful sisters for years to come. Maybe next time Scarlett will want to be near her sister without the bribe of a fruit snack? Take a peak at Elsie’s newborn session below!
