My favorite kind of newborns are sleepy ones, and when Miss Estella arrived in my studio she was bright eyed and bushy tailed! This newborn baby girl had beautiful bright eyes, so I figured at any rate I’d try to get her to look into my camera before I lulled her to sleep. Sometimes my magic is too powerful though, and baby girl was zonked out just as soon as we wrapped her up.
First time parents, Jennica and Travis, both native Hoosiers, have known one another since they were sixteen and their best friends were dating. Travis asked Jennica out many times over the years, but it took Travis getting a good haircut and finishing freshmen year of college for Jennica to say yes. They’ve been together five years now, and married for one. Jennica told me they were a bit nervous, wondering if they’d be good parents, when they found out Estella was on her way. As much as Jennica and Travis love their fur babies, they shouldn’t have been worried. Estella’s three older brothers are Nash, Knox, and Memphis- you know, I wonder if they have a fondness for Tennessee?
I met the couple earlier this summer when I did their maternity session. Jennica was stunning with her round pregnant belly, and just as beautiful as a new mom. When they were in front of my camera holding Estella, they looked as natural and and at ease as can be.
I’m going to tell you a secret, Jennica’s nurse at IU Health Ball Memorial told her not to spread it around, but Estella made her debut in just about three hours after Jennica and Travis went to labor and delivery. Estella’s smooth entry into the world has carried over, because she was quite the chill newborn model as well! Estella barely made a sound the entire time I was posing her. She had a head full of gorgeous hair, she’s as pretty as her mama.
Take a look at this gorgeous family’s session.
