The most beautiful family of four came into my studio a few weeks ago for their newest baby girl’s newborn session. Tiny Miss Laina Rawal was welcomed into the world August 27th. She visited the studio at just 8-days old, along with parents Heeral and Michael, and new big sister Ayva.

I’ve had some really good luck with toddlers loving on their little babies lately, and Ayva was no exception.¬†Ayva is just 2 1/2 years old, but she was so good with her baby sister. Mama gave her a sucker in between shots to keep the smiles coming, and it worked like a charm. When it was time to take the pictures, she handed the sucker to my assistant Kate, and the second I stopped shooting she reached out her little hand to have it back! She wanted to be in all the pictures. After the family portion was over, we got down to business with baby Laina, while Ayva happily retreated to the waiting area and enjoyed some alone time with her mama. Most of the time I have newborn envy, but this time I also had toddler envy, she was just so sweet!

Michael had to head back to work after the family pictures were done, but we did get a chance to sit and hang out with Heeral when Laina needed to take a lunch break. Heeral did CrossFit through most of her pregnancy (with doctor’s approval, of course) and she looked absolutely amazing just 1-week after giving birth. Heeral said she’s met so many great people through CrossFit and the workout was easily modified to her pregnancy. She said she hopes to get back to it as soon as she can.

Laina was the perfect baby, I’m positive she only made noise to tell us it was time to eat. We shot most of her session in neutral tones (my favorite, obviously) and she rocked every shot, we even got several wide-eyed shots. Here are a few of my faves from the session.¬†
