This week I had the pleasure of meeting Jessica, Michael, and twelve days new baby girl Olive Mae!

Michael (who is the definition of “jack of all trades”!) helps run a dental imaging company, is a project manager, and does construction and landscaping. Michael was coming later in the session so we decided to start with a few shots of mommy with Olive. She was very content, so we decided to try a few naked ones and Olive responded by peeing on mom almost immediately. Thankfully we had a Tide spot remover stick in studio so Olive might not have ruined any clothing just yet!

I just got a new prop, a small distressed wooden crib, I had to try out. Olive looked adorable in the yellow knit bonnet draped over the matching wrap fromĀ Prop Me Up Shop just peaking over the side of the crib. She was so good, in fact, I even got her fully undressed and on her tummy all scrunched up to get the perfect back rolls.

It was perfect timing when Michael arrived to do some family shots. Olive was awake and gave us all kinds of adorable expressions while Dad and Mom held her. There were kisses all around!

Olive decided it was time for a lunch break, so my assistant and I sat and talked with Michael and Jessica. Jessica is a swim instructor atĀ Stony Creek Swim Center, where my assistant’s sons finally learned to swim! Michael told us he and Jessica got engaged on September 30th last year, and while they don’t have a wedding date set, they are considering just having a reception. He said it would be an awesome day to do the whole shebang, but the other things you could do with that much money start creeping into your mind when there’s a little one too! I completely agree! We talked a little about my trip to New Orleans and a good time to go to Savannah, Georgia (St. Patrick’s Day, according to Michael!) They were such a fun couple to sit and shoot the breeze with!

Once Olive decided it was time to get back to work, we went back into the studio. Olive was a little more restless after lunch, but we got oh-so-many cute shots! She did not want to sleep with her mouth closed, I kept nudging her little chin up, it was so cute.

Jessica brought a delicate little headband from Sugar Divas Designs that looked great with a pastel pink wrap and blanket. I decided to get out my gorgeous little lace pillow from The Original Photoblocks Props and little Olive cuddled up with my bunny lovey for some of my favorites of the session.

I so hope to work with Jessica, Michael, and baby Olive again in the future! Here is a peak into our session.
